The Blood of Jesus
The blood of Jesus plays a very important part in our lives as believers. His blood keeps us clean from the defiling effect of living in this world of sin. We are kept by the power of the blood. 1 John 1:7 says "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." The Cleansing Power of the Blood
The blood of Jesus keeps the believer clean from the defiling effect of living in this world of sin. The believer is sanctified, kept by the power of the word and the blood. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)As the believer refuses to habour sin or satan, and confesses his sins, which is an act of giving up Satan, the blood of Jesus cleanses him or her, from everything that is not in conformity to God's will in purpose, thought, and action. As the believer accepts and agrees with the Word of God, in their thoughts and acts on it, the blood of Jesus brings judgment upon their enemies, sin. The blood of Jesus nullifies the power of sin. It delivers us from its power. (1 John 1:9) The believer is cleansed as he walks in obedience to the Word and by the power of blood the Lamb. 1 John 1:7 says "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." The Freeing Power of the Blood
The blood of Jesus sets captives free from the Kingdom of Darkness, and translates them into the Kingdom of God's own dear Son. It sets the one who puts his trust in Jesus Christ apart, from Satan and his dominion, and brings him or her near to God. (Colossians 1:13; Ephesians 2:13)It disarms principalities and powers that are arrayed against the one who believes that Jesus Christ is Lord; and makes a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them. It breaks the yoke of bondage, and gives freedom to the captive. (Colossians 3:15) It redeems the one who puts his trust in Jesus Christ as his or her substitute, from the captivity of sin. The believer is totally redeemed through Jesus' blood, and his sins are totally forgiven, washed away, blotted out, to be remembered no more. (Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 8:12) The blood of Jesus is the price paid for the total deliverance of the believer, from the power of Satan, which is the power of sin and death. (Hebrews 3:14-15; 1:3) The Protecting Power of the Blood
The blood of Jesus gives the believer absolute protection from their enemy - Satan and sin.Because of the blood their enemy loses your scent, because you are hidden in Christ. Colossians 3:3 says, "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God". "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze" (Isaiah 43:1-2). It is a translation from death to life! Because of the blood of Jesus the believer has passed from death to life. The believing one must reckon themselves dead to sin, and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:10-11 says "The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Romans 6:11) The blood of Jesus, gives the believer access to abide under the shadow of the Almighty God. Psalm 91:1-2 says "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." The blood of Jesus empowers the believer to walk after the Spirit, and constantly supplies them with life. "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." (Romans 8:13-14) The Life Giving Power of the Blood
The blood of Jesus gives eternal life to the believer. It's a transfusion of God's life into man. It brings the life of God Himself into mortal man. It gives the believer immortality, everlasting life.Jesus said in John 6:53-54 "...I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you." "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." The blood of Jesus brings life into believer. It is life that overcomes death. The life in the blood of Jesus destroys all traces of death, and nourishes the mortal body of the believer with life that overcomes sin, and death. "...They overcame him, by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimonies, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Romans 8:11; Revelation 12:11) The blood of Jesus brings mankind and Deity, God in union with one another. The blood of Jesus brings resurrection life into the spirit of man, and gives him new life - the life of Christ. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20; Romans 6:5) The Reconciling Power of the Blood
The blood of Jesus brings the believer into perfect fellowship with the Father. Hebrews 10:19-22 says, "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water."We have been ushered into the presence of the Most High God by the blood of the Lamb. We have been brought near to God because of the Jesus' blood. Ephesians 2:13 says "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ". Through the blood of Jesus, God comes near to us. James 4:8 says, "Come near to God and he will come near to you. Through faith in the blood of Jesus we maintain our fellowship with God! 1 John 5-7 says, "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." |
